Blog 9 - Sunset Grill

Cleake woke up on Friday worn out from the day before. He couldn’t imagine going through yet another tough day at work. He desperately needed a vacation. Anything would do, just to get away from work was enough. He decided he would take a three day vacation, taking Monday off, and talk to his boss about it after work. On his way to work, he began to imagine his vacation when he saw an advertisement for a deal at Disney World for this weekend. He would take a trip to Disney World. All of the pretend happiness of Disney World may rejuvenate the child inside of him. Winnie-the-Pooh, The Little Mermaid, and Toy Story were all so important to him as a child. Maybe they were still important to him. Cleake began to get excited. For once, he actually enjoyed his day at work. At one point, a lovely person by the name of Spring Patterson came in looking for an animal. She had no clue what kind of animal she wants, which normally irritates the shit out of Cleake, but today he was fine with it. He helped her find an animal of her liking, but she eventually decided she didn’t care for it and left empty handed. It didn’t bother Cleake one bit. Afterward, when it was time to ask his boss if he could take his leave he forgot. He got home in a happy mood, then it all sank. He wasn’t going to go on his trip. He thought maybe he could just call in sick on Monday, but that was too risky. He checked the Disney World’s prices on his crappy laptop, so that he may be able to go next weekend, but the price was too damn high. There was no chance for Cleake, so he spiralled back to his sad, depressed self the next day.
